Well, this is one time I have to differ w/ the "King"!! Heard stories for years about "punchin" out phony scallops from wings. Found that skate wings separate when cooked into corkscrewed pieces, similar to unwound hemp rope!! Just about the same color too...

I'm sure you can develop a taste for em - esp. if you eat em in a dark room.

Try it and post back your results. Maybe there is a phantom skate variety that works!!
