The eels are better for the bigger stripers later this month and during December at Oregon Inlet from the beach and catwalk, can be a lot of eels at the inlet that time of year. Also hooking the eel in the tail will stop it from balling up.

Some say eels during the day, doesn't matter at night. I prefer right behind the outer bar with cut bait, the eels are hard to throw very far. There used to be a hole at the seasonal no driving sign on the beach between Ramp 2 and Ramp 4 at Coquina Beach that was sometimes good for 1 or 2 after dark during December.
