If it's rough and breezy from the north or northeast the spot fishing could be good at the piers the next couple of weeks and seems like late afternoon has been the best time for some reason this year. The red drum fishing might be good on the end of the piers after dark so you might want to stop by one of the piers and check that out.
You might have to fish from one of the piers, the catwalk on the bridge at Oregon Inlet or the little bridge on the Nags Head Causeway this weekend. The sound stripers might be at the bridges.
The extended weather forecast can change daily, 5 to 8 foot waves can be challenging from the surf and 20+ winds would be blowing sand on the beach.
Right now the ocean is really rough, the wind gusts would move the car driving and the pond at the mini golf course had white caps today.
I don't know what the beach structure is like at the Surf Side Hotel, the beach renourishment has made the water shallow in Nags Head. The last parking area on the beach road in South Nags Head where the houses along the beach end has always been a good spot to fish.
Also just north of Nags Head Pier there's the Huron wreck at the Bladen Street beach access. It's not visible but marked in the water with 2 buoys, one on the bow and another on the stern. I'd try early morning, evening and high tide.
