I fear you are correct but I'm more that a little ticked off at the increase. By now they should have paid for that road at least once if not twice.
I've only been the old way once and that was 26 years ago when we went to Nags Head on honeymoon.
I figure I'll try the old way next weekend, if it's crowded, or if the cops get tricky with speed changes the way Buxton does I'll pay the $ and come back toll rd. We don't go anywhere near the Outer Banks during the peak of Touron season so I don't know how bad it can get, but I'll take your word for it
