No station wagon at Clear Lake. Wagon was strictly an on base thing. No drinking at all!!

Wife (who was not fishing) was in car parked about 30 ft. above spot we were fishing. Fishing w/ me were one of my NCO's (Liz) and Asst. Chief Publications Branch (Julie). Great gals. (Oh my, fishing w/ women...another thing you'll comment on).

Were fishing from shore. No boat.

Time we were boarded was one of the times we used the generals boat on San Raf. Bay. Funny you should ask that. Did I mention generals boat before...don't remember?

The sighting was no joke. About 150 ft. in front of us moving right to left till it disappeared behind point of land. Looked like an overturned whaler. Jet black and making about 15 knots. All saw it, but were speechless till the wake hit shore at our feet.
