The first time my wife and I visited Currituck Light, we were chased out by the critters, snakes and sketters. The Keepers house was a pile of rotten lumber.Still thought it was an amazing piece of history. Whalehead Club, I'd look at it and could only imagine the partys that Mr. Knight and his hunting partys might have had there.We remember the Banks of 25 years ago, imagine them 70 years ago.I think it is great that they have beed restored, but I wonder how many really appreciate the effort it took.By the way I think the realtor that tried to sell off the Whale Head Club took a bath on that one. I think he only sold one lot and ended up giving it to the county for a tax loss.He was trying to sell the lots starting at 250.000.00.
