I like the Shipwreck shell shop on the Nags Head Causeway. Some of the better more affordable stores for women would be Gray's, Daniels Homeport, Farmer's Daughter, Cotton Gin, Christmas Mouse, Belks. Best jewelry shop to deal with is Natural Creations right by Walmart. Another place worth mentioning is Islander Flags, they have expanded to gifts. Just my opinion, some are way over priced and a lot of them don't last.
I also wanted to say sorry for your loss. Mine could have been better. I lost my favorite outside cat Zipper last week, vet in Kitty Hawk said it was a blood clot and is usually what can happen to them 1 - 4 years old. The vet said he would live a day or two so I got him a blood thinner shot for hope and took the cat home instead of putting him to sleep or leaving him there. I took him inside and he died about 15 minutes later. It's just a cat, it happens and there's nothing you can do about it.
