It's less of a boat ride going out from Hatteras Inlet but just my opinion it's better to be staying at Hatteras. The drive time from Kitty Hawk to Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is 40 minutes in no traffic going, can be 1 1/2 hours in traffic coming back and 3 hours in holiday traffic.
