A point about chartering a boat that I have never seen posted is about paying the crew.
Ten years ago I chartered my first half day trip and had no idea about tipping. I asked the only person down there that I knew at the time and got some poor acvice. Found out two years later he did not like the guide which resulted in the wrong advice.
Point is, if the guide does a good job he deserves to be tipped accordingly, even if it's a one man crew. I'm really sorry about the mistake I made and wish I had gotten better advice.
I hope this helps somebody out and saves them the embarrasment
