Rock Fishing

What is needed to do some Rock fishing from the surf or the Bonner Bridge in late November and December?? What type of tackle, bait, etc. I am going to be spending my honeymoon down their and I mainly do spot/croaker fishing so fishing for the big boys from the surf and bridge is new to me. Can anyone help me??
