That Texas Hash is baked in the oven for an hour as a casserole which dries it out, my chili is stove top and a modified Chili-O, on pack.
The Texas Hash has some of the same in it .......
French's Chili-O Chili
1 lb lean ground beef
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (15.5 oz) can red kidney beans, undrained
1 (1.75 oz) pkg. French's Chili-O Seasoning MixBrown ground beef in large skillet; drain fat. Stir in tomatoes, beans and seasoning mix. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes 5 cups.
Modified Version
1 lb lean ground beef
1 (28 oz) large can of petite cut diced tomatoes, undrained
2 (15.5 oz) can red kidney beans, undrained
1 (15.5 oz) can black beans, "drained"
1 onion, chopped
1 (1.75 oz) pkg. French's Chili-O Seasoning MixBrown ground beef in large skillet in about 1/2 inch of water. Stir in tomatoes, beans, onion and seasoning mix. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. You can use another can of red kidney beans instead of the black beans or not use.
