been there done that. getting to old for those trips. they say native brook spawn in February. say they like calmer water. i've had better luck mid april on if weather warms up. just about the time mushrooms come up. i remember fishing in the morning and hunting mushrooms in the evening. the streams have changed so much in last 40 years. hardly no water unless flood. my grandpa told me water would be worth more than gold before we blow each other up. stay well and safe. good luck.
