Robert,
Under the 64 bridge near Pirates cove and on the western side of Manteo I believe there are some public launches. But yeah check out the link on the home page here. I would say head towards the inlet and fish around the islands, cast to the shore lines. If you are familiar with a popping cork tipped with about a 12 to 18" mono leader 12# and 3-4" Gulp minnow, white or yellow / green that should do the trick. Good for Reds or Trout. There is one thing you are missing though that you wont have on your trip..........
