OK, fishing question.

What size fishing hook does everybody use?
I'm tying some new red circle hooks for our trip in May.
I only use circle hooks. But this year we'll be fishing the sound & surf. The kids want to take the grandkids on the beach one or two days & the guys will be fishing.
We always use between 6 - 1/0 in the sound in May. Is there any reason to go up as far as 3/0 in the surf?
Anybody got a preference?
BTW. Got my second Covid shot on Wednesday. My arm was sore as hell yesterday and was really tired.
Been cold the past 3 days but temps are suppose to get back into the mid 60's by Sunday.
Gas here at $2.89 a gallon.
