This probably too late for you diver but there should be some sea mullet, small blues, some puppy drum (red and Black) and some Spanish around. Maybe even some pompano.
Heres my 2 cents.... Fish shrimp or bloodworm (real and fake) with a small hook just beyond the first breaker. Sometimes that first breaker may be right at the shoreline. Catch from fresh spot or whiting/mullet and cut that up and put it on a larger hook (1/0 or 2/0) for drum & small blues.
For artificial lures, my go to is a 1.5 or 2.5 oz kastmaster. Make sure you have more than one. Look for breaking fish. Sometimes it may only be a few glass minnows but cast around the breaking fish and you'll get some blues or Spanish. If your lucky there will be schools of bunker around. if the water is clear, you should be able to see the schools. Cast your artificials in and around the the school. You'll either foul hook a bunker or pick up some blues or Spanish. The bunker make great bait for jsut about everything but trout and pompano.
There may be some finger mullet around. Good place to get em is at the Corolla lighthouse. You'll need a cast net tho.
good luck and dont for get to tell us how you did.
