the trout streams in wva. are in good shape. you really have to fish hard to get any. hardly nobody fishing. if the trout do not get caught when they first stock, they can get pretty wild and hard to catch. I know a stream in va. that has creek born rainbows in it. meaning the water and bottom conditions are good enough for them to spawn. i'm going as soon as this rain gets out of here. it's on private property and not stocked by the state. about 8 miles down stream the state stocks. we think these rainbows came up years ago and stayed there. they will only bite on small worms on the bottom. the property owner lets me go once a year and I can only keep six. if they are not foul hooked I usually put them back. they look different with tiny heads and body is slightly bowed. they are about 12 to 18 inches. the colors are amazing. good luck on the blues and stripers. I was supposed to be at banks first week of may at avon. be safe.
