Yup home, and in basement as TV was trackin it and givin est. time of arrival. Learned lesson too. Told Mrs. Capt. to get to basement NOW!!!! 7 minutes later she was still casually walkin round upstairs collectin stuff. WT heck???

This Capt in basement on opposite from oncoming storm washin down outside deck furniture cushion in sanitary tub. Got 2/3 done as it hit and power went off. Mrs. Capt then holdin flashlight so I could finish. She was against wall and said could feel house shakin.

1/2 house roof to be torn off and replaced, w/ new ice guard, facia trim, drip edge, ridge caps etc. Hole in siding, cracked basement window, hot water tank exhaust pipe loose, etc.

Been thru near misses w/ tornados as a kid + the famous "Devil Wind". Power out from this storm for some up to 4 days.

Just finished food loss inventory of 2 frigs and 1 chest freezer. Adjustor guessed will be over $700. Mostly losses from refrigerator sections. Kept all closed entire time power out. Frozen sections held up well cause of that.

Not at all warm and fuzzy bout roof replace in cold weather but no choice. Won't be real quick as contractors swamped.

Re: generator. Nope. No place to store one in garage big enuf to run everything. Need Association exception (granted only for ill health) to get permanent one outside.

Gas fireplace keeps FR and SR over 70 + gas kitchen stove top can be used, and there's always gas grill outside. W/ general store in basement no lack of food.

Re: keepin OP in. No joke...always try to be out and about by 0700 hrs. and back before the OP hit the roads. Under speed limit, no depth perception, etc.

Re: Welcome home. Sure not ever fishin for that or freebies (would never accept that stuff) from anyone. Very surprised when anyone says thanks. Always approach the older guys and thank them - they always lightup or tearup.

Now workin on recliner. On last legs. Can't find reasonably priced and well made replacement.

You take care...and thanks for the concern and kind words.
