Its a bit of a haul but I see some guys fishing for sharks in Carova 4x4 section in the fall. They use kayaks to take the baits way out and use Tuna Heads for bait. The kayaks don't really seem to be necessary, at least in the fall, as we catch plenty of big Sharks targeting big drum in the surf. Two years ago the guy next to me caught an 8 footer and couldn't get it over the sand bar and had to wade out and cut the line. Be advised tho that the summer months are way crowded up there which is why I don't go down in the summer anymore.
