As much as I hate to see the Bridge constructed, I think they need it. You can't get off the island very easily when there is a mandatory evacuation. It used to be the state of Virginia would open the gate to the gravel road to Sandbridge. Now they don't open it anymore. Thats a long way to go to the wright memorial when everyone is trying to leave at the same time.'

Once the Bridge get final approval, look for the environmental Nazi's to close the section of the Carova beach where the National Wildlife refuge is located. I've already heard pro environmental groups in favor of a paved road to the Va line to reduce impacts on the beach from traffic.
