A lesson learned the hard way only knew they were yummy, sounds like your on top of it. The Black Pelican did take it off their appetizer menu.
I like fried shrimp, a must try is the fried coconut coated shrimp at Sugar Creek Restaurant on the Nags Head Causeway.
I like all of it except for those black mussels they are to strong, usually at the Black Pelican I get their southern fried flounder and shrimp plate.
Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers are good for an appetizer if you like hot stuff.
Steamed to go shrimp from different places so I can eat like a pig.
I like a good apple pie or a sweet cherry pie with some ice cream.
I'd say peach cobbler is the most popular desert dish in the neighborhood, easier to make than a pie.
Lately I've been into blueberry cobbler made with that Comstock canned pie filling, microwaved hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
If your bargain hunting for a deal that Walmart Country Charm vanilla or neapolitan ice cream in the large square clear plastic container is tasty.
I'm not sure if it's good for you.
