The big bluefish still exists just nothing like they used to be, NCDMF believe said on their site that it was commercial tuna fishermen. Chasing the big blues around was my thing when I was younger and what I saw was a lot of recreational fishermen throwing them up on the beach and leaving them. The park service had to use a bulldozer to clean them up after recreational fishermen at Oregon Inlet one time. I remember thinking at the time the big blues are not going to be around one day. They would see who could stack up and leave the biggest pile on the beach.
