If you poke around enough , there's a link on Alex's site to an annual everglades "roundup" where they try to catch as many of the exotics as they can. I'm sure there are prizes , maybe a fish fry. Sounded like fun. The snakeheads are getting out of hand in several places. I think they are pretty much considered naturalized in the canals. Supposedly the Asian markets in Florida will buy the bigger ones to resell to make medicinal soup , but I've also heard they are good to eat. Fish and invasive species fascinate me , doesn't take much :):)

As far as a tank for bait , I have no idea about saltwater bait , but up here with the Gizzard Shad and Alewives we use for Stripers on the lake , no corners or rounded corners are a must. The shad will continuously run into a corner until they are almost dead. I know a few guys that use two 55 gallon food grade drums , with two 350 gph pumps cycling water between the two. I think one guy had a setup that gravity fed into one , then a float kicked the pump on to fill it back up. I think the shad were in one tank and a big filter in the other. The gravity feed pulled the heavier sediment into the gravel at the bottom , and the filter in the other tank got the rest before clean water was pumped in. The filter wasn't in with the shad because they are dumb enough to get stuck to the strainer on the intake. He had two big bubble wands to aerate in with the shad placed under the gravel. The pumps help aerate too , but aren't enough. For the freshwater shad we always added plain rock salt to help keep them alive , and it really helped. Not sure if you could do that with saltwater bait or not , but you'd have to be careful not to get too much if you can.

Definitely let me know if you try it! I enjoy tinkering with stuff like this.
