Toss the skirts. Use a red head 1/2 to 3/4 with a bass assassin , fluke , or sassy shad. Pearl colors or chartreusse/green work pretty good for me. Bucktails arene't bad either , I've caught a ton of fish on plain white bucktails.

I'm not saying the skirted jigs won't work , I've just never heard or seen anyone use them.
