Well now ... a daughter an RNBSN in an ER,and son Dr.in an ER. So this Capt eminently qualified to speak towards puncture wounds:):)

Not seen/heard infections from fish (excluding jellyfish) at the Outer Banks.

Have seen growths on sides of Lake Erie perch. Never fished there since.

Could be something other than the fish caused it, or something into the wound while open.

Hopefully he heals w/o any other complications.

And for visitors. Suggest immediately bleed (non-snake) puncture wounds to flush out impurities.(Free medical advice - jungle training.)
