Just a reminder...

Summer is here guys. I don't want to spoil the fun for anyone , but I do want to remind everyone to be safe on and around the water. I was only down at the OBX for a week last year and I saw at least 20 people pulled from the rips , and heard the rescue crew's sirens further down the beach saving more. It's dangerous when the surf gets up.

So , just a reminder , swim parallel to the beach if your caught in a rip. Watch any young children with you very closely. If you're a boater , take a minute to double check your safety gear and make sure everything is up to the Coast Guard's standards.

Nothing saddens me more than hearing about people who lose their life while enjoying the water. There's a link below to an article about drowning that I posted last year too. Check it out , some good info in it.
