Dude, my apologies. I was on another Nc. resources link that did not have that info.I was always told I need a lic. probaby because I always crab with commercial traps. I do not think crabs are considered shellfish, but a few lines down clears up the crab question.I would think any bait would be legal as long as it is connected to a string and you use a dipnet.Remember the good old days when you did not need a lawyer to understand the fishing regs.
