You can catch them from shore if they are there. You'll want about a three oz. weight(usually) and cut bait on bottom(shad, horsefish is better). Or I've caught them on Sassy Shad type deals, or Rattle Traps. The problem is getting hung up and loosing your rigs, because of so many logs/snags.
