Tech question?

Been using 2/0, 3/0 & 4/0 circle hooks here in Central PA. fishing for bass & catfish. Caught over 100 Catfish so far this summer on the Susquehanna River. 75% of them have been in the 17" - 25" range. Haven't broke a hook yet.
Just purchased some 5/0 circle hooks. Any need for me to tie them up and bring them down in Sept.? Or will the 2/0 - 4/0 work fine in the surf?
Plan on using mullet and S----- Shrimp for bait.
