That's got to be related to the Salvo Hole Monster.
The Salvo Hole is in the vehicle free area now, we need a walk over beach access 1.35 miles south of Ramp 23.
The whole area is good from there for a 1/2 mile south. The Salvo Hole was where the beach turned into a mountain and it was at the peak. You couldn't see any sand bar structure, just deep water.
The boat wreck 2.55 miles south of Ramp 23 was a good place too, here it is uncovered below. You can still drive to it from Ramp 27.
