TW use to fish with me 20 some years ago.
I grew up on the other side of Pamlico Sound and have seen them all the way up Neuse River as far as the New Bern Bridge
Owen Lupton and me were the 1st guys to intentionally land one in Pamlico Sound in June 1976.
I ran charters over there for years and was the only one doing it and no one had a clue about what was going on.
Average size is 80 pounds and the most I ever caught was 13 in 1 day from 9:00am to 2:00pm one day in June years ago.
They are not as thick as they use to be.
Some have been tagged and recaptured in Cuba & Fla.
At one time there was alot of fish in the Sound and at times now there still are....but not like the good ole days
