Lure Choices

The freshwater tackle might work, toothy bluefish can be destructive and wash it off when done to keep it from rusting. White is a good lure color.
My absolute favorite is the black back on white StingSilver, it has the magic wiggle. Stop-N-Shop has them, TWs doesn't carry that color anymore it's all pink I guess for the Hatteras spanish mackerel crowd with them. I just walk the beach stop and cast, if a bluefish is there it's usually on the first 3 casts.
The local made glass minnows are good too, you can get those at Stop-N-Shop. My favorites are the natural looking gray green back on white and the red head on white body.
If your pier fishing the red head white body Gotcha is a good one. I do what the people king fishing do, take 20 casts if nothing bites wait awhile and try it again. Early morning and late afternoon / evening will probably be the best time.
