Your right, the usual reason for those restaurants that have been around for awhile is the owners getting older and harder for them to do it. Usually the restaurant either closes and the property is sold or a new restaurant opens there with a different owner, name and menu. A guy I think from Virginia has been buying them and keeping the restaurant menus and food as they were before like Black Pelican and Sugar Creek. So you get to enjoy them as they were for awhile longer.

The Wings guy is Jewish from Israel and has been buying commercial property that is available. I think he is more of a real estate investor and has the businesses just to pay the property taxes on the land he has bought.
