I've been using them for Stripers for the last ten years and have had great results. They are one of my favorite lures to throw for many other species as well. They are basically a sassy shad with an internal weight. I use mainly Storm lures and Calcuttas. There are a ton of other brands. The 9 inch size is a mainstay for pulling behind umbrella rigs in winter. If the small ones don't cast far enough, try rigging one up Carolina style. There are many sizes and many colors for many uses. Give them a try and you will be pleased.
