Big Man,
I live on Roanoke Island and the other folks have given you sound advice on checking for mold, rot, and other assorted flood damages. The area you are looking at did have some flooding - the entire island did. My wife and I spent the flood night in a Tacoma parked in the CVS parking lot. We had water on four sides of us for about five hours.
Fishing in the sound varies with the season and can be very productive. Red drum, Black drum, Speckled seatrout, Flounder, Striped bass, Bluefish, Sheepshead, and loads of bottom fish. Spanish Mackerel in the warm months are always a trip saver. Post or e-mail when you start living here for an up to the minute report on what is biting. Good luck with everything.
