I am sorry it took so long for me to post back to you on the Chowan Stripers. I have a bad thing going on right now in my family and dealing with it is causing me extreme STRESS. As to the chowan. I have found the best places to fish for stripers in around Holiday Island at the peak closes to Catherine Creek. Also around the bridge at HWY 17. If you want to travel down the chowan between Hertford County and Gates County the best place's are right before you get to Shoops Landing or go under the Chowan river Bridge on HWY 13 and head toward the old Dowrey. What has been working the best is my favorite bait actually called Rattling Rougue. I use the silver, blue and orange. We have been using these trolling as well as casting with a medium reeling action. I have also been using the Wild eye shade. If all else fails use the bleeding rattle trap. Like I said there are plenty to be caught this year but they are small, but this is good news for the Chowan.
