Sounds like you know what you're doing. It all depends on what size fish are being caught for rigging and bait. I like sand fleas for smaller pups sometimes but shrimp and cut bait work too. Once they are " slot " fish I just use a fish finder with a smaller hook.

The fluorocarbon works pretty good for rigging. I like 40 or 50 for leaders on fish finder rigs , 30 if I'm tying bottom rigs. I use dropper loops and surgeons loops when I tie them. Dropper loops for the hooks and a surgeons loop at the bottom for the sinker.
