help fishing the obx

Hi everyone, just got back from a 2 week vacation in the Outer Banks. Tried fishing but didn't have much luck as I wasn't sure which bait to use, type of line, good areas and times. Was wondering if there are any websites, books or even if there are any seminars held on the island so I can have better luck when I come back for next year's vacation.
