Picky bluefish?

You seem to be catching a few fish. The sea mullet and pompano are better tasting than croaker. The croaker also have a lot of iodine which can be bad if your not used to it. The chits for some even a possible allergic reaction for people that can't eat shellfish.
Freshly caught and fried small size bluefish are good like around 12 inches, the bigger size bluefish are too oily for me. You'll probably need a fresh oily piece of bluefish for cut bait to catch the bluefish if they are being picky. The best bait for a bluefish is a bluefish. Try to catch one with the mullet then just fillet the bluefish, keep the carcass and cut the fillets into 1" by 2" pieces. The double hooked fireball rig by Sea Striker works real good, you can get them at Hatteras Jack. I like the mono rig with the 1" floats it's the second one on the link below, don't use the first original one I've never caught or seen anybody catch anything with it....
