Sabiki rigs are a store bought baitfish rig.You fish them just like a bottom rig or a mackerel tree. On my home lake , we used to hang one off of the back of the boat when we were drifting for stripers. Always had fresh gizzard shad that way.
The smallest ones you can find work better in my opinion. Some of the larger ones get destroyed if a school of small spanish or small blues comes through. That's why I like the homemade ones sometimes too. I've made a few with fly tying hooks that I really like because I just haven't seen the Sabiki rigs with small enough hooks for the size bait I want.
