The big stripers should start to show up on the shoals at Oregon Inlet around the end of November and in good numbers by mid December. You might catch one now around the bridge at Oregon Inlet. If the wind is coming from the southwest it will make the water grassy at the inlet. A northeast wind would be the best.

The stripers like clear water, if it's muddy you can run into the dog sharks and skates during that time of the year. Also if your sand spiking more than one rod at Oregon Inlet you might sit out there for hours and not catch anything then without warning end up with a big striper on each rod at the same time.
