Honey Bees

End of last week had a big snowstorm at the Tennessee line west of Asheville, NC with pockets in it of 18"-24" on the western side of it.
The forecast called for maybe snow here but was just rain. Walmart had long lines and noticed a lot of Georgia plates I guess going there.
I expected some here and it was the same story with my great grandfather I had in West Virginia, I think he had about ten hives on his farm.
I did not think it was worth trying where I was at on the beach and only started seeing honey bees in that area the last years I lived there.
The honey bees at beach looked unhealthy were skinny like not eating good and the pokeberry flowers in the last uncut areas is what I saw on.
I never saw them on my tomato plant blooms was always bumble bees or small moths and my cherry tomatoes blooms sometimes had a swarm at them.
I've been looking into it since moving to this area. I've got a lot of summer white clover, dandelions, spring blackberry bushes back of pond.
It's a lot of info to try and digest and no doubt some effort and costs. I had picked up a bee book at Tractor Supply and youtube fills in more.
For example from what I understand so far getting them to survive the winter and dealing with hive pests is the biggest hurdles for keeping alive.
