Positive...no way to increase monthly SS.
Bills were passed not fairly, meaning not forward from date of the bills passage, but including retroactively all way back to Nam.
Let me tell you more. SS creditable time during active duty was a combination of $$ withheld from pay + a govt amount. After the war another bill was passed saying if after active duty you wanted a govt job and expected to retire from that, the govt required you pay back all the SS that was credited during active duty. If you didn't they would "significantly" reduce your pension each month. And they had the nerve to say ..."Oh if you can't pay in a lump sum you can pay on time w/ 7% interest." Had to pay that back.
Over the years since the war at least 2x politicians tried to walk back the legislation. Got no where. Now as our numbers dwindle, and thus our votes...sure we'll will never see justice. At least $204,000 "stolen" since applied for SS at age 62.
