I be here. Been readin, but not postin.
Gettin close to anniversary of Mrs. Capt's passing and most thoughts there.
Not happy w/ some of what I read here lately, which might be enuf to have Justice Dept. or FCC involvement if there's a complaint by the 'Woke" crowd. If you weren't around I'd have axed couple of them.
Tip of the cap to Capt Caton re: rods. His 1st comment = its not the rod but the fisherman was right on the money. This Capt still mostly usin 8 ft. no-name rod bought in 1981 at a mobile PX in the DC Navy Yard. Not pretty, some rotting below the reel but still does the job.
Fall settling into North Coast. Leaves fallin and trees w/ streaks of red. 30 degree temp drop since yesterday. As has been case all summer, rain around but not here.
Deaths here in "God's Waiting Room" continue. Expected as OP community but nonetheless very disturbing to lose so many good folks. A lot recently also moved on to assisted living facilities.
3 major jobs left before cold sets in. Repair garage man door, rebuild and repost bluebird house, empty out and disinfect grill not used for 3 years cept for the mice who've been in residence.
Crew fine. Had our family clambake Labor Day weekend. Rebooked for June 2023. Kitty Hawk and Rodanthe.
Haven't wet a line since left Waves in July. Boys out 2x last week. Found new pond not yet known to public. So many frogs in grass were usin em for bait vs. worms.
Had to laugh at your veiled comment re: my now banned "T" term for visitors.
Stock up the larder... Old farmers says to be a tough winter.
