We usually buy a few turkeys around Thanksgiving when they're cheap and fry them throughout the year. I'll even haul my fryer to OBX every now and again. Can feed 6-8 people on the cheap. One year was down and a northeaster rolled though knocked the power out for a few days. When that happens where we're at in Carova, you cant get in or out cause of the high surf. With the power out to cook, Turkey fryer and a good supply of ice saved the day. We had some nice fried turkey, potatoes and green beans. Invited some renters down the street to join us. Good Time was had by all.
