All my raised bed are made out of cedar fence pickets. 5/8" thick x 5 1/2" wide X 6 ft. long. I cut the dogears off & use them for spacers/joiners. Costs $3 or less for a 6' piece at Lowes. They seem to last about 3 years. After that I use them for kindling. Don't like using treated for anything around food (Too many chemicals in them).
Been going thru the wood pretty quick. Should have enough to last thru the winter.
They are calling for many snow systems to blow thru here for the next 10 days. Hope they are wrong. Come on spring.
