Most of the Spot were around 5". Released them all. Crabbing has been a little slow off the bulkhead. 2 keepers a day. Released them all.
I use 2 of the 18" wire ring traps from Bass Pro. About $7.00 a piece. Just got to replace the string on them. Then I wire tie a Bird Suet cake holder to the bottom to hold the bait. Lost way too many chicken necks by trying them on.
The best places I've gotten crabs at are the Wildlife pier under the I-64 bridge or the sides of the bridge at Bebopps.
Not an expert on when its the best time for them, since we only come down in May & Sept. Maybe King can answer that better.
Raining right now but its gonna clear up later in the morning & i'll give fishing another go. Have to go and get some more shrimp. They are sure stealing the bait.
