Applejack,
I am truly growing weary of it.USCG has made it way to easy to get a Capt.license and now everyone is a Capt.....plus all the lucky sperm club kiddies who's daddy has bought them a boat ....the list goes on and on.....just to many people doing it these days that don't really have to do it.
On a true 100% scale I would say about 9% to 10 % of the Capt.'s are fulltime fisherman and own their own boats and make a fulltime living at it....Hell I work for my son commercial shark fishing in the winter......but yes I use to really enjoy it alot more than I do now
