"August 17 ” Master Mechanic Rick Moore Is On The Scene”"
Master Mechanic Rick Moore from Manteo drove down to analyze the problem today………Took hydraulic throttle controls out of the way..took water lines out of the way…..took turbo off….took aftercooler off..took both racks and all rods out…cranked motor….determined what head was bad…..took head off…..found a busted section on the head gasket…..cleaned up……and will start today on 8/18 putting things back together……part is being flown into the Manteo airport at 9:00am today Sat. 8/18 ……..at least it happened at the dock and not 30 miles offshore on a rough day….Thank God …Still can’t believe my mate James heard it…..at least it’s nice and cool…….yeah right
