Both the heat and traffic have been bad during the afternoon and worst being Saturday check in time for the weekly rentals.

It tends to be slow going in July but you can have a good day. The middle to end of August is better for fishing than July.

You start to get some weak cold fronts and the crowd starts to thin down a bit, the first hurricane miss is the end of it.

The finger mullet start running in the surf and better odds for some pompano in the drop off use fake bloodworms for bait.

They are really good and sometimes have a great shellfish flavor, usually when they have been eating little black mussels.

You can see the black shells crushed up in their bellies. Ideal conditions would be clear warm water with some big swells.

That would be my pick assuming your looking for sometime to take the kids before school starts and get some fishing in too.

And I'd get the hurricane insurance with the rental, you would get it back for lost days if there's a mandatory evacuation.
