When they put in the paved road (Not if but when) I look for the wildlife refuge to be closed to all people in an effort to protect the plovers. Thats between swan and carova. Just like the other places in the OBX to the south. I've actually herd some rumblings about the enviro nuts pushing the paved road so that they can eliminate the beach driving. I check out your hole and see if its still there. Beach has changed a lot in the last 10 years. Especially the north end. Its getting shorter and shorter every year.

I've got a pretty nice fishing hole up near me that I can walk to. I didn't make it down this past fall due to work but sent some friends down and they had a nice pick of drum and trout early November through thanksgiving.
